The GroOovy neon granny square crochet blanket

I have finally completed my groovy neon granny square blanket! This project was very time consuming, it took me about 2 months to complete!

The yarn used for this project was I love this yarn which can be purchased at Hobby Lobby!
The completed blanket used a little more than 1 roll of each neon color & 4 rolls of black.

The granny square I used is the traditional granny square, the pattern for this can be found for free easily.

There are never two of the same color sequence squares next to each other. I basically did 12 squares different from each other & then repeated the same squares.
For the border I found a pattern online which can be found here: http://onceuponapinkmoon.blogspot.com.au/2013/09/pom-pom-edge.html?m=1

I am super happy with how this blanket turned out!
6 x 9 granny squares
& it even glows in a black light :)
Yay! Time to pull out my black light at night & enjoy this psychedelic blanket! ;)

1 year anniversary with my crochet skills ;)

I have now officially been crocheting for 1 year!! As a way to celebrate this I decided to make a nice girly blanket just for me ;). I live with 3 boys so I think I deserve to have my own girly stuff !!
The idea started whenever I went into hobby lobby & found this beautiful multicolor yarn by I love this yarn! It was called sherbet! I knew the moment I saw that yarn it was the one!! Haha seriously it was love at first sight :).
When deciding on a pattern I decided to use a pattern I had "on my list" for a while now in a crochet book I own. I am convinced that this year will be full of working on projects that are on my list of things to accomplish b/c I have a habit of finding new projects to start before accomplishing old ones !! Haha

This blanket took me exactly 2 week to make!
This girly blanket is large enough so my feet don't hang out at the end !! That was important to me ;)
I am so excited with how it turned out! The multicolor yarn looks so awesome & it brings a splash of color that really brightens up my living room!

My new favorite yarn is the I love this yarn from hobby lobby! I think it's really soft & that is important to me, there is no point in making something that's meant for snuggling if it isn't soft enough to snuggle with! I don't know about anyone else but I don't like to cuddle with yarn that feels like sand paper!
I have decided to start another blanket, I am finally going to create a traditional granny square blanket using I love this yarn in neon colors! Ooooo I'm so excited! It will be so shockingly bright ! I am one who loves a good use of color!
